As believers our faith in God through Christ can and should shape us along the way in life. For example, when negative things happen, often our faith helps us overcome... as our faith gives us the victory. (1John 5:4-5).
However, when things happen beyond our usual perception and expectation of life (like an untimely death), our faith can be shaken. We lose our sense of homeostasis... usual sense of balance in life. We just don’t bounce back so easily. Questions remain unanswered and emotions remain raw. “What the hell just happened? God, this is not fitting into our love for you.”
If you have been angry with God that’s ok. He can handle it. However, you have been feeling God is aware and knows. The passion of Christ exists for us to know that God himself firsthand has experienced the human condition and suffering for the effects of sin and the fall. Although we believe we overcome all things through faith in Christ, some things can just knock us for a loop and make us “punch drunk.” No one ever wants to be there or live there. The suffering can be unbearable for us. How do we get out? “Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
What is needed is a renewed fresh experience of the grace of God. Grace is God’s ability and God’s power given to us even though we don’t deserve it, let alone understand it. As we surrender to all that God is wanting to be for us and open our hearts to His healing for us, God’s amazing grace restores and refreshes us to come back into His alignment for our lives together. We re-learn and re-pent to confess Jesus Christ is Lord regardless how we perceive and see and understand things in life. God does want the best for us. He will help us navigate through the painful disappointments in life to see the bigger picture of His Kingdom and eternity in light of His revealed will, word and way as seen in scripture. God has not given up on us. Let’s not give up on Him. The riches of His grace in Christ Jesus are more than sufficient to restore you and keep you.
God is love. When we learn and experience His grace continually, we will always find it to be amazing! May the love and blessing of God be yours today through Jesus Christ our Lord.
